… What’s that noise? Oh, it’s just the Filipino stupidity.
Hi guys, first time poster here, I’m also a Filipino that’s getting fed up of shit going on in here.
And today I would like to make my first post about Duterte and his zealous followers.
I’ve been observing them for quite some time now, and boy, Duterte’s followers are in the same level of stupidity
as the other pinoys that have been mentioned here. It’s amusing and at the same time it made me lost all hope when
it comes to this wretched of a nation that’s just trying to kill itself.
Duterte’s followers are really that mind-boggling as expected. Debates with hard facts do not work against them, oppose them and you’ll be accused of being “yellow”, biased, or a black propagandist. For those who do not know what I mean by “yellow”, it means you are an active follower of Noynoy Aquino and his followers. It’s pretty ironic that those rabid Duterte fans used to be avid followers of Noynoy. Now they’re just setting him aside for the next
thug president that’s about to take the presidential seat.
Also, it’s getting kinda obvious that the majority of the people on this nation are just following the “monkey see, monkey do” principle. And with pinoys (and some expats) yearning for martial law and someone to leash them and yell at them, it only helped to shed a light on that.
Now about Duterte, he’s been doing a lot of shit these days, I think we all know of the recent rape joke, no? He joked about an australian missionary woman who had been raped and had her throat slit. His followers are okay with it because it’s a joke, and Duterte refused to apologize, had managed to find an excuse that he was talking about the 1989 hostage
incident which he wasn’t tied into. The zealots still chanted “DU30Parin”, a chant which is as stupid as
Pinoy Pride. He’s also been planning to cut ties with America, and Australia after they responded negatively to his
rape joke. This isn’t the first time he reacted poorly to someone who’s being raped, he doubted his daughter of being raped and called her a “drama queen” instead of taking some time to look into it.
Duterte’s zealots are okay with him severing ties with US and Australia too, without realizing the consequences of that. Lots of companies and jobs will surely be lost. Let’s not forget that majority of Duterte’s followers work for American companies and call centers out there.. the irony surely will strike them the hardest. Duterte also name-called the Pope during his visit last year ago, and his followers who likely are fans of the Pope are okay with it too. It’s really a bad case of “monkey see, monkey do”. I’m kinda wondering why these so-called “religious” people didn’t call him out on it. Maybe it’s because the Pope never left any gifts?
And furthermore, Duterte’s known by everyone who has a functional brain that he deals against crimes poorly. He executed a 12 year old kid, his own son and believes that death penalty without judgement is the final solution to all things. For all we know he only stands against petty criminals and there’s no news of him calling out the corrupt governors. Eliminating street crooks left to right wouldn’t do this nation that much good.
To be honest, I’m kind of wondering what would happen if he wins the election. He stomps on human rights, his behavior and the way he acts makes him unfit to run as a president. And he even said that himself before. So why did he had a sudden change of mind? Mike’s predictions might not be that far off. And PH will probably undergo a Nineteen-Eighty-Four esque dictatorship for some time, although that seems like overthinking it. But if he cuts ties with nations that disagrees with him, PH will have drastic negative changes.
While Duterte has lots of brain-dead followers, his detractors are coming out from under to voice an opinion. Hell, even the Philippines subreddit on Reddit (which is known for housing delusional expats and pinoys) has lots of anti-Dutertes there too. Still, the majority shuts everyone out with their shouting. Still, as I said irony will be there to give them a hard slap in the face, make them rally against Duterte after he steps down. The same pinoys who rooted for him will shame him for a while and miss him. Then when the next president that comes after him steps down, surely that president will be shamed like Noynoy. The cycle continues.
Many months from now, Duterte could be watching you.Published in
