Go Duterte, Go!

We are all fond of pointing out the deficiencies of the Failippines….

Duterte will kick butt till the Philippines has a chance of sorting itself out.

Already we know the Police salaries will rise, possibly to Php100K per month – but look out if you are a corrupt Policeman.

Surely this is what we Westerners want? A reliable fall back if we have problems. The law WILL be enforced and that is good for all of us.

There are moves afoot to change the constitution – allowing foreigners to own land and other things that will increase investment.

The main people to suffer will be the elite – can you imagine the consternation from PLDT when they know an Australian or Japanese comms company is coming their way? Or SM, facing real competition?

Bring it on!

    He is communist leaning.

He studied under the person who later founded the Communist party of the Philippines in the 1960s.

He has indicated alliances with communists.

The power brokers, corrupt and oligarchs need to be scared. There is too much wealth in the hands of the few and the aim of communism is fairer distribution.
He has indicated the release of some NPA prisoners.

Too many Filipino soldiers died a the hands of NPA in battles over the many years, claiming 150,000 lives.
Do you think the military will wear communists on his political team and the release of prisoners?

The foreign media is talking about a coup happening at some stage – and I don’t doubt it.

What the country needs is a guy to shock the living daylights out of Filipinos.
The parties over fuckers – time to get living like the rest of the world.

PS – ALREADY – i have seen pictures posted which are saying
    “God has spoken”
    “God has chosen”
    and quoting bible verses.
    Like – wtf??
Do these people take comfort in killing people? sounding hypocritical for being bible bashers
A vote for Duterte was a vote to condone killing.

PS above – what I said

What the country needs is a guy to shock the living daylights out of Filipinos.
The parties over fuckers – time to get living like the rest of the world.

to clarify – Duterte is the only guy in my books that will shake the living fuck out of this country.
Im skeptical how the unrolling of things will go
      Cannot agree with everything 100%
but if theres a guy that brings peace, cleans up the rubbish, stops the noise and undisciplined people, crooks and criminals
and restores a sense of order in the country and also focuses on the education and hospital system
(unsure what his policies are in that regard)
then …bring it on. HE IS THE ONLY ONE IN A LONG TIME that can make change.

As he is a part of the establishment there is little to hope for. Still everybody hopes and no one knows what will happen. He must go hard on the rich families, and discipline the burocracy. If he don’t he’s already failed! First things first! Killing off some drug dealers clearly won’t do the job. If the country is to improve he is to cut deep, at the right places, does he have the guts to do that, that’s the question.

Since he cannot stand alone and everyone of any note are corrupt the project is probably doomed to failure. I’d like to hope for the best, but how much worse can it become? Future only will tell.

A dumb person leading a dumb nation. Wow. Bring it on!
But I tell you what – real change comes when dumb people become smart people. “Shocking the living daylights out of Filipinos” will not make them smart. It’s just going to transform dumb people to shocked dumb people.
The dumb part is too strong a factor to stop giving you problems.

I see no real change taking place here, not in 6 years, not in 20 years.
The particulars, sure. They’ve been changing, ALWAYS. That’s how 1980’s Philippines is different from 2010’s Philippines. There’s been a lot of changes, right? Of course. In the particulars.
    How about the essence?

    You’re being shallowly hopeful, mate.

I’m sure there’ll be multitudes of foreign companies falling over themselves to invest whilst his goons go about his promise of murdering 50,000 people. Like the man himself, I don’t think you’ve engaged your brain before opening your mouth.

At least the writer just failed to engage his brain before opening his mouth. What do you mean, duterte perpetually commits the same? I think he’s engaging his brain at the right time, there’s just not much to engage.

A quote in the John Oliver article:
“The HBO host then cut to a TV interview with Duterte saying of the gang-rape line, “It was not a joke. I said it in a narrative. I was not smiling, I was just talking plain sense.””

      Not quite a sequential oversight.

As I’ve been telling my friends…

The biggest battle he has on his hands is not the drug dealers, not the corrupt officials, but the insurmountable ignorance and incomprehensible stupidity of the masses. Changing them is going to be a much harder task than training a deaf dumb and blind dog. And that is where the change must take place.

I would imagine that there are 2 things that could take place in the next 6-8 months. The first one being an assassination attempt on Rody Duterte life or a coup. It is no secret that Noy Noy desperately needs someone to be in a position to make sure that he does not get cases filed against him when his term is over. That person is Leni Robredo, if Rody dies she will take over. There are several issues that are going to hound Noy Noy, one is the PDAF money and the money for Yolanda which was being taken care by Roxas.Where is it?. France has already told the Philippines do not ask us for help again. They have made several request to find out what happened to the money that France donated for Yolanda?. They have been blacklisted for not investigating fraud from donations for Yolanda. Noy Noy new it would be too obvious if Mar Roxas won but since Bong Bong and Leni were almost tied in the surveys it would be easy to manipulate the numbers on the machines. Rody might want to invest in a bulletproof vest.
