Our New PRIVATE Expat Community Site

I would like to thank all who emailed me to express how important this community site is to you, and inspiring me to keep it going. Not only did you inspire me, but you motivated me to move forward with an idea I had months ago. And after one member suggested it in his email to me, I felt that now was the time to implement it.

I have created a fully featured social network on FAILipino.com

Although it is brand new, and still under development, it is ready to start taking in members.

I created it as a closed, private social network and community for us expats in Philippines. I know that many of you had expressed concerns about security and anonymity in the past. I do believe this is what we needed.

I am not going to take this blog down for a while ever. But the very long term goal is to transition from this blog to FAILipino.com.

With all the new cyber-bullshit laws and criminalizing libel (which the stupid fuckers don’t realize that if something about someone is true, and it’s mentioned, it’s not libel, but they think libel is when a senator plunders, and people talk about it publicly online, it’s libel. Idiots!)

So we want to still be able to speak the truth without some butt-hurt Filipino politician launching a head hunt against any of our expat members to make an example out of.

We intend for the new PRIVATE social network site to be for current expats, former expats, and frequent visitors to Philippines.

YOUR security and anonymity in what you post and share is what failipino.com is all about. It is out of public view, only visible to individually screened, approved members.

  • Each user has his/her own blog, published immediately by you, no waiting for admin approval
  • LIVE CHAT (Facebook style)
  • Detailed user privacy settings
  • Facebook style newsfeed
  • Create Groups
  • Post photos and videos
  • Plan and post Events
  • Member profiles
  • Add friends and favorites
  • Private messaging
  • Activity notifications
  • Create public or private chatrooms

Like I said, I’m not going to take this blog down for a while ever I’m just adding a private online venue for us to meet and feel safe for those that do not want their posts to be viewed by the public, only registered, screened, approved members. Over time, as the activity on this blog decreases, and the activity at the new site increases, we will simply redirect this URL to the new site.

Please take a moment to sign up and check it out. You have to create an account and be logged in to access all the great features of the site. You do not need to give any vital identity information. You can remain as anonymous there as you are here. And if you don’t like the site, you can delete your profile.

So if you’re currently AN EXPAT in Philippines, and/or a current member of this blog, please sign up and help us get it rolling!

Lol I know right, the new thing going around (which is probably a scam to get your fb info) is you sign up for the site and they give you 300k + “likes” on all your posts

A piece of advice… just make sure that the site is secure and all conversation recorded are encrypted… I work with stuff like this, safety first!

I believe it will attract more attention since you are sharing personal details, curious people are watching and waiting… again… safety first…

But isn’t it entertaining when an illogical Filipino signs on and dumbshits over himself? I’m gonna miss having a good laugh like that.

Like the Dumb ass I am, I 1. Read, “NO SPECIAL CHARACTERS IN YOUR USER NAME.” And without paying attention out of habit I put the Underscore in my user name anyway..
and 2. Spelled my username wrong. Left ut a T. Hoping I can edit this soon.

    New site looks great.

Hey Spartacus, this may be random. But I finally found Taco Bell. Were you the one who told me about there being a Taco Bell in QC? Well if you were, I found it last night 😀

        1. Profile gravatar of FAFI

Yeah, almost everything was there, except for the cinnamon twists. But pretty much all the main courses were there. I mostly admire the American-like atmosphere. Yeah, there were some pinoy customers there, but they were minding their own business and not in my way (unlike McDonald’s). I’m gonna go there again next month

If you don’t mind your tacos a little stale from overnight delivery, I can LBC you some Filo 🙂

Actually, I guess the system will allow underscores. If it works, then it’s ok. The system will tell you if you have any prohibited characters in your username. I just think it would be best for the members here to register as similar as possible their username here.

Out of curiosity has anyone registered with the new Failipino site?
I ask because I’m getting an email warning, I haven’t ever received before.
The following was in my inbox. Does anyone know what this is about, just curious.

“Welcome to MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from “failipino.com” claiming to be Failipino.com – Expats In Philippines Community! Thanks for joining us. Here are some quick links that you need to find your way around:”

    Hope someone has idea.

Yeah I got that email too and it freaked me out at first. LOL…. As for the Taco Bell, I totally pigged the fuck out! Bought 400php worth of Taco Bell that night, and if I wasn’t on a tight budget, I would’ve got more. It was great, just like the original. I went to the one at Gateway Mall. I was even surprised that they had the self-serve drink dispensers. I felt like I was in America again 🙂 Being there was such a hard-on for me. I’m going there again after I get paid.

I contacted my host and told them about that shit they add to the emails the site auto-sends. It’s fucking annoying and scaring people. Hopefully they can do something about it.

FiloFail, it saddens me to hear that you will eventually be transitioning away from this blog, to the new expat-only social media site. I’ve found this site to be a good read, and it’s very therapeutic to know that I’m not necessarily being arrogant and condescending, when I say that for the most part, Filipinos can be such ignorant and inconsiderate pricks. Yes, I am Filipino. And I damn will sure miss reading all of the posts written in this community.

From the posts and comments that I’ve read so far, I don’t believe anyone should or could be charged with all that cyber-bullying bullshit, as no one has ever mentioned any specific name or person, when recounting their horrific stories, of encounters with the idiotic general population of the Philippines.

Know that other Filipinos (born and raised here) share and endure your frustrations on a daily basis too. I’m sick and tired of it myself, and if anything, I envy that you guys can opt out, whereas I, am stuck in this shit hole!

I understand if you want to have an expat-only site, but I wish you would keep this one up as well. Discussions about a specific topic can skew towards being repetitive and tiresome, if everyone who posts, are in agreement, and are on the same page, every single time. Having Filipinos on this Community, who can share objective and insightful banter, (instead of mindless idiots crying foul whenever someone calls them out for being a prick) can keep this site interesting, and informational, in the long run.

I think you make a very valid point, and I decided some time ago that this site would simply remain online. The private expat community is really not very active, even though it currently has 92 expat members so far. Being that this site is hosted in Europe, the Phil govt can kiss my pearly white ass if they can’t handle the truth about their country getting out to the world. They need to stop pissing down the world’s back and telling them it’s raining. They sure do a piss poor job of trying to hide their stupidity from the world anyway. They go about trying to look and sound honest and intelligent, but every time they open their mouths, they make fucking stupid idiots of themselves, and they don’t even know it. And after they completely dumb-shit all over themselves internationally, they walk away all smug and thinking they appear so smart and clever, while the world community facepalms and points and laughs at them.

So this site will not be shut down. I have gotten a remarkable amount of feedback over the past couple years about this site, and I hear all of them. I decided a couple months ago I will not shut this site down. I will simply let both sites remain online for their intensive purposes.

    Hey Filo,

Out of curiosity, do you ever get death threats and “cyber bully” emails from ignorant Pinoy’s who don’t like this site? I figure you probably get a good majority of them, since most Filipino’s don’t take anything lightly and choose childish tactics to shut people up. If you do, I admire this site even more.

I’ve gotten two or three over the past few years. I don’t worry about it. If there is one trait that is most prominent with Filipinos, it’s this:

They love to run their mouths, but when it comes to doing what they say they will do. That just never happens. Those of us who live here and know them, know this.

When I think of it, I don’t think they could ever come up with a master plan that would work anyways if they chose to take action. Take for instance my wifes parents. This is just a theory of mine, I don’t have full evidence but when they found out we were having a kid they thought “oh boy, now we come to Canada and now we get sponsored, he has to adopt us.” But if this was a plan of theirs, it completely back fired on them, because it caused an opposite effect. The first thing that came to my mind was “Ok, time to get these parasite pests off my back and concentrate on my immediate family, not them”, and that’s what I’ve done since. No sponsorship, less money sent, and so on! So they just aren’t bright enough to be that diabolical. They don’t think that far ahead to trick you or take action where it will work in their favor.

Instead, having offspring has made me that much more protective over my family and that much more careful with money and hand outs. They are all about converting people to their outlooks and beliefs no matter how retarded they are. It’s hilarious and sad.

Anyways, this site kicks ass and has saved me mental break downs countless times! I hope you keep it going for a long time. I will certainly contribute what I can for blogs!
