Walls Fences and Barriers Everywhere, Take a Look You Will be Amazed
Before my partner convinced me to buy some land and build a place here I didn’t really notice, but now I do, they are everywhere. Walls, concrete, fences, barriers, barbed wire, no trespassing, keep out, really, really paranoid stay away signs. If you live in Philippine city maybe you could expect this, but this a small tourist based island. Where I come from most of the land divisions are trees, bushes, at most a wooden fence. Here it’s like a wall around a prison just for a private house. What’s the problem? The only other place I’ve lived in that could match this place is Tripoli Libya, all walls. When my partner started to help me with the property idea she said we have to have a fence. My first thought was why bother? So then I started to notice them, almost every structure has a fence around it. I live in a rural area and walk a lot for exercise, I can be in an area that’s just trees but still it’s all fenced off. I’ve almost tripped over barbed wire in the weirdest places. Sometimes there’s like this three meter high concrete wall around nothing and it’s been there for years, why? There’s one place near where I walk that has a huge concrete wall about a km long and nothing inside for years, why? I ask a simple question, which is more appealing my Juniper fence back home or these f..ing ugly structures in the pictures.
I guess it must be lack of trust for their fellow Phils, suspicion etc, who do they want to keep in or out?Published in
